This is video is a mini day in self-isolation. I wanted to make my video a little more lighthearted while focusing on editing it together and doing a voiceover. My strong suit is taking and editing photos and super short videos for social media and blogs (60 seconds videos that require little editing of the video itself). I took inspiration from the videos we watched in class as well as youtube videos and Instagram tv videos I watch more often. I really focused on making it more like an IG t.v video because that’s the length and effort this video has, just like those. I edited my video on adobe premiere pro, using techniques taught to me through linked in learning video tutorials, as well as some youtube videos. I recorded my voice over on GarageBand because I used it before in a class I took before. I also just find GarageBand simple and easy to use. I had some challenges to overcome due to the situation we are all in, I was in the middle of moving back home for the pandemic when filming this. I also did not have my ring light and tripod that I normally use when taking photos and videos, and it kind of took away a high-quality look that I am used to. I also originally had a different idea for my video, but since I was by myself I really had to adapt and change my idea.
The changes I made for my final video were small but hopefully have a big impact. Firstly I fit my first still image to the entire screen. Then, I sped up some of my b-roll clips to shorten my video down . I didn’t get to add my clip in that I wanted to because it would have made the video much longer than it needed to be as well as cutting the clip down would have made the clip useless to use.Overall I am proud of myself for doing something I would not normally do and I learned a new program. I am satisfied the way my video turned out.
